Dobbie McInnes Steam Pressure Indicators - Set of 5 in Leeds, Kent for sale

Set of 5 vintage Steam Pressure Indicators.   Four are manufactured by Dobbie McInnes of Glasgow & the fifth by Hannan & Buchanan also of Glasgow.   All come in original beautifully constructed wooden boxes.   One of the Dobbie &McInnes items has become detached from it base plate, but an appropriately qualified specialist with the relevant expertise could probably correct this. This one also does not have the original aged label under the box lid and the period precision ruler is missing.  Technically this one should be considered damaged and hence for “Spares & Repairs”.   However the other 4 indicators all have these accessories and are considered complete.   These are classy antique items which originate from the glorious age of steam and are part of our Industrial Revolution heritage.   My father was an engineer and a knowledgeable enthusiast regarding all matters to do with the steam engine era and he certainly loved these pieces.   Alas the time has come for them to be owned and loved by someone who can properly appreciate them. There is a wealth of information on the web regarding these wonderful precision items. In simple terms, an indicator is a small, mechanically-operated instrument that gives an insight into the performance of a range of pressure-operated machines — steam engines, gas and oil engines, compressors, condensers, even guns — by comparing the rise and fall of pressure during the operating cycle.   Think of it as an early diagnostics box. Please note I would estimate that these are between 50 and 100 years old and as such, appropriate consideration needs to be given as to their physical appearance. They are collectively a relatively high value set of antique items which need handling with care. Hence I am requesting cash on collection please.
